GranLusso and GranSport trim options

The Quattroporte is a fundamental part of Maserati’s story, which dates back more than 100 years. It is a story of endurance. Of embracing challenge. Of going the distance and winning. And doing it all with audacious Italian style.

The 2018 Quattroporte is offered in three models: Quattroporte S, Quattroporte S Q4 and Quattroporte GTS. Both S and S Q4 models are available with optional GranLusso and GranSport trims, while GTS is offered with a choice of GranLusso and GranSport trims as standard.

The Quattroporte GranLusso trim is a celebration of Maserati’s unique grand-touring heritage, embellishing Maserati luxury with stylish exterior refinements. There are some individuals, however, who demand a sharper sporting focus. The GranSport convincingly meets this demand—while remaining true to the essence of luxury grand touring.

GranLusso: luxury on another level

The GranLusso trim level features exterior refinements that include a discreet front spoiler, chrome bumper inserts, body-colored side skirts and the GranLusso designation at the base of each front fender.

Also included are elegant 20-inch Mercurio light-alloy wheels complete with visible brake calipers painted in black. A soft-close door system, which silently draws each of the four doors shut when slightly ajar, is another welcome refinement.

At the rear, reflectors at each side of the bumper and a body-colored extractor enhance GranLusso’s sophisticated look.

2018 Maserati Quattroporte GranLusso Interior

The GranLusso interior

As with Ermenegildo Zegna’s impeccable designer clothing, the Quattroporte GranLusso bears a personalized Zegna label, stitched onto each sun visor to distinguish the interior as a work of masterful quality and exclusivity—and to act as a reminder that, within the automotive industry, bespoke silk interiors are unique to Maserati.

Other GranLusso cabin refinements include a wood and leather steering wheel, wood trim, a PIN-number-protected glove compartment, power foot pedals, a power rear sun blind, four-zone climate control and heated rear seats.

2018 Maserati Quattroporte GranSport

GranSport: sharper sporting focus

The GranSport is distinguished by an aggressive front end, featuring sculpted angles on the large central front intake and side intakes, with the center spoiler and side inserts finished in striking Piano Black.

Like the GranLusso trim, GranSport provides the style and safety of adaptive full LED headlights and the convenience of soft-close doors. It also offers an optional Exterior Carbon Package, which features carbon finishing for the exterior door mirrors, door handles, B-pillar cover and front bumper profile.

GranSport: the athlete within

Front and rear Sport seats in fine leather are firmly sculpted for optimal body support during even the most spirited drive. The leather Sport steering wheel is ergonomically designed to enhance the feeling of precise control and driving engagement. Long, steering-wheel-mounted gearshift paddles in lightweight, cool-touch aluminum add to the sporting sensation.

High-gloss Piano Black wood trim on the dashboard and stainless-steel Sport pedals complete the sport-inspired image.

Formidable luxury

Luxury, scale and space meet extraordinary dynamic capabilities in the Maserati Quattroporte. This unique combination of attributes is perfectly expressed by its stately and flowing—yet dynamically intense—exterior proportions. The front end is dominated by the distinctive Maserati grille, which bears the iconic Trident.

The vehicle’s imposing presence is brought into sharper focus by plunging character lines on the long hood and stylish new standard adaptive full LED headlights. The side profile also reveals much about this vehicle’s commanding character, with a long wheelbase that promises spacious luxury for all on board.

At the rear, quad chrome tailpipes allude to the Quattroporte’s formidable power and performance.

Unique vitality

2018 Maserati Quattroporte Dashboard Touchscreen

The Quattroporte designation is a discreet, dynamic flourish across the dashboard. There, the blue Maserati clock takes pride of place, centrally mounted and encircled by a delicate chrome surround. Ahead of the driver, between the large speedometer and rev counter, a 7-inch TFT display presents essential dynamic data, while at the center of the dash is the advanced and intuitive Maserati 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Located on the center console is a rotary control that operates the touchscreen, along with a convenient storage compartment for phone and accessories.

2018 Maserati Quattroporte Zegna Stitching

The seats, upper dashboard and armrests are finished in fine, hand-stitched leather. Extensive trim detailing in genuine open-pore Radica wood, or other optional trims such as carbon fiber, provides a smooth and graceful contrast. The front seats feature 12-way power adjustment and heating, while a memory function reconfigures the driver’s seat, power steering wheel and door mirror positions to one’s precise personal settings.

Features and technology

2018 Maserati Quattroporte Luxury Sedan

One-to-one engagement

The advanced design of the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission helps ensure precise gearchanges and optimum performance, putting the power of the Quattroporte engine under your complete control.

Auto-adaptive software modifies shift patterns according to driving style, as the transmission sends power to the rear wheels via a standard mechanical Limited Slip Differential (LSD). This helps ensure superb traction even in challenging situations. Five selectable operating modes—Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport, and ICE (Increased Control & Efficiency)—further refine the driver experience.
2018 Maserati Quattroporte GranSport

A gripping experience

The Quattroporte S Q4, with its compact and lightweight Maserati Q4 intelligent all-wheel-drive system, is the perfect choice for drivers who seek the rewards of rear-wheel drive with the back-up traction achieved by driving all four wheels.

The Q4 system continually analyzes six parameters with a sophisticated algorithm that continuously monitors dynamic inputs such as driving style, steering angle, yaw angle, speed, wheel slip and power output. Drive torque from the twin-turbocharged, 424 hp V6 engine is then optimally distributed based on system data.

Maserati touch control plus

MTC+: the 8.4-inch Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) unit takes pride of place at the center of the Quattroporte dashboard. With a minimum of buttons plus a highly responsive interface, it is designed to help the driver maintain focus on the road ahead. MTC+ can be operated in three ways: via the multi-touchscreen, the rotary control in the central console or through voice commands. MTC+ incorporates the Quattroporte’s multimedia and cabin functions, such as seat heating, ventilation and steering wheel heating.

The state-of-the-art system also supports the convenience of Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ mirroring functions[1]. In addition, for iPhone® users, Apple’s Siri® system acts as a personal assistant. The Wi-Fi option is another welcome touch when you’re on the move in the Quattroporte. Simply place a SIM card into the WLAN router to access internet signals inside the car[2].

Virtuoso performance

Harman Kardon Premium Sound system: powering this system is a state-of-the-art, 900-watt amplifier, delivering rich and detailed sound quality, whatever the source, be it radio, MP3 player, iPhone® or audio streaming device. The system employs 12 independent channels for superb balance within the car environment.

Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system: this optional entertainment system features 15 speakers that include mid-range drivers and rear woofers made from Kevlar®, each strategically built into the car’s architecture and powered by a 1,280-watt amplifier to deliver immersive sound for all onboard.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems

Highway Assist System (HAS)

HAS combines the virtues of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Keeping Assist to help make highway driving even easier[3]. Using information picked up from a digital camera mounted behind the rearview mirror and a radar system in the front grille, HAS automatically keeps the vehicle centered in its lane, at a preselected speed and at a chosen distance from the vehicle ahead. It will even decelerate the Quattroporte as traffic conditions dictate. To help ensure safety, HAS requires the driver to keep his or her hands on the steering wheel at all times.

Lane Keeping Assist (LKA)

LKA provides valuable input if the driver is about to unintentionally leave a lane[3]. A digital camera behind the rearview mirror continuously monitors road markings to keep track of the course ahead. The instrument panel display shows the specific status of the vehicle. White lines on either side of the vehicle image indicate that it is safely in lane. One yellow line indicates that the Quattroporte is moving off-center, right or left. One flashing yellow line warns of lane departure. At that point, when the Visual & Haptic box is selected in the touchscreen display, LKA actively steps in with corrective steering torque. Activation of the turn indicator overrides the system.

Traffic Sign Recognition

Even the best drivers fail to recognize traffic signs on occasion, and for this reason, Traffic Sign Recognition is a particularly useful feature[4]. This system monitors three types of sign: speed limits, temporary speed limits due to conditions such as heavy rain, and no-passing zones. It then displays the signs digitally in the cluster display of the instrument panel. The system operates with data acquired with a digital camera mounted behind the rearview mirror and from the navigation system.

Forward Collision Warning Plus

This system, in combination with Adaptive Cruise Control, monitors vehicles ahead and warns if the approach could result in a rear-end collision[5]. This is linked to the Advanced Brake Assist system, engineered to provide additional braking during an emergency stop. If the warning does not prompt any action from the driver, the Automated Emergency Braking system automatically applies the brakes to reduce vehicle speed.

Active Blind Spot Assist and Rear Cross Path function

With this system, a warning icon appears in the exterior door mirrors when a vehicle enters the driver’s blind spot[6]. Three levels of support can be selected if the driver nonetheless initiates a lane change. Minimally, the system maintains the visual alert in the door mirrors; additionally, alerts are backed up with an acoustic warning. Or for maximum intervention, the system applies steering torque in the opposite direction of the attempted lane change. The intensity of this torque is also adaptable according to preference.

Rear Cross Path function is a useful feature that emits a warning signal when an unseen vehicle is approaching, from the right or left, while reversing out of a parking space[7].

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function

Adaptive Cruise Control constantly monitors the vehicle ahead, maintaining a preset distance[3]. With the Stop & Go function, the Quattroporte will also adjust to the speed of the vehicle in front until it comes to a complete stop, if the stop is less than two seconds.

Genuine accessories

Maserati Genuine Accessories for the Quattroporte offer the perfect combination of exclusive design and exceptional functionality. The attention to detail, style and quality of each accessory reveal the very essence of the Maserati brand. The range includes cleaning and care features, safety equipment, transport and luggage solutions, and special tires.

A choice of powerful engines

A central offering of all Maserati vehicles is the ability to cover long distances, combining dynamic spirt with luxurious refinement—all at high speed. With the Quattroporte S and S Q4, that power comes from a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, and in the GTS from a mighty twin-turbocharged V8, the most powerful engine offered by Maserati.
