Style that sets it apart

When designing the Maserati Ghibli, Maserati drew on its rich experience as creators of the finest grand touring cars in history. The very first Gran Turismo was a Maserati, and since then, every car bearing the Trident has offered thrilling performance and unmatched style. The Ghibli, Maserati’s newest creation, is an extraordinary sports sedan that blends the soul of a GT with a powerful new shape that delivers excitement, every time you drive.

A sports sedan with the alluring curves of a GT

A strong personality

With a look that is glamorous yet assertive, the design of the Maserati Ghibli makes a striking impression. Like the first Ghibli launched back in 1967—designed by the young Giorgetto Giugiaro—it captivates with its strong personality. From the front, the Ghibli is dominated by the distinctive Maserati grille, and while inspired by the traditional oval shape, it acquires a more rectangular form, narrowing at the top to meet aggressive front headlights.

Design Appeal

The frameless door windows help to give the Maserati Ghibli the look of a sleek coupe, even though its length and wheelbase are amongst the longest in its class. The side of the car is defined by two curved lines that converge, before giving way to the rear flanks.

To the rear, twin tailpipes underscore performance

The tapered design of the trunk is the natural continuation of the cabin, and the two LED tail lights provide continuity with the rear fenders and rear bumper. Sporting performance is emphasized by twin exhaust tailpipes and the vast selection of wheels available, from the 19" Poseidone design (standard) up to the optional, forged 21-inch Titano design, which speaks the language of the purest Maserati style by integrating the Trident logo into the spokes.

Choice materials, modern design and ergonomic controls

Positioned in the driving seat of the Maserati Ghibli, the driver feels a sense of total control. The ergonomic, three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel features controls for interacting with the main multimedia functions. Behind it is a simple yet striking instrument panel; the large speedometer and tachometer have elegant white backlighting and are separated by a 7-inch TFT display that shows the car’s dynamic data at a glance.

An intuitive interface so the driver can enjoy the journey

The center of the dashboard features the traditional Maserati clock with blue face and aluminium details. The large 8.4-inch display of the Maserati Touch Control, the access portal for the entertainment technologies and is the control center for most of the onboard devices.

The comfort of craftsmanship

The smooth, elegant lines of the dashboard and central console immerse passengers in an atmosphere of pure luxury. Soft leather and exquisite stitching are the epitome of traditional craftsmanship and are essential features of every Maserati. On the Ghibli, leather is used as standard on the seats and can also be on the dashboard and the door to create original two-tone combinations. In traditional Maserati fashion, great attention to detail is evident in the fine finishes used on the central console and the door trims.

The seats have a wraparound form, underlining the interior’s sporty feel and guarantee top-class comfort. The optional all-electric front seat adjustment system makes it easy to achieve the perfect driving position in terms of height, depth and the angle of the back and seat. The roomy rear bench seat accommodates up to three passengers.

Featured as an option for the Ghibli range, the new Harman Kardon Premium Sound System, utilizes the very latest in digital technology, a state-of-the-art 900 watt amplifier lies at the heart of this system, delivering stupendous sound quality, whatever the source: radio, CD, iPhone® or any other similar device. Twelve independent channels are employed, providing unparalleled levels of control within a car environment and guaranteeing a truly inspirational experience that releases all the subtle nuances of the original recording. With ten high-powered speakers carefully positioned throughout the cabin, the system produces 360 degrees of sublime sound reproduction despite the listeners´ seating position. A special high-performance subwoofer handles the low-end frequencies with ease, whilst the mid-range drivers and tweeters ensure that every instrument makes its presence felt on this virtual concert platform.

Concert-hall acoustics thanks to the Bowers & Wilkins High Premium sound system

The Maserati Ghibli can be equipped with the highest option offered with Premium Surround system, created in association with high-end sound specialists Bowers & Wilkins. The system, with a 16-channel 1,280-watt amplifier and 15 speakers, blends perfectly into the design of the interior and guarantees unparalleled sound with unbeatable dynamic purity.

When music is played on a digital device, it is digitally compressed, which inevitably removes many of the subtle audio details that were originally recorded. To rectify this, the Bowers & Wilkins System features a special music restoration process called Clari-Fi, which instantly scans all types of compressed audio files and intelligently corrects any deficiencies detected. As a result, the missing highs and lows are recaptured, vocals are restored to their natural tone, and distortions are removed.

The Ghibli is powered by a responsive V6 twin-turbo engine

The Maserati Ghibli’s 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 is an engine designed to achieve lower fuel consumption and emissions while delivering stunning performance. The result is outstanding versatility in terms of use, combined with extremely impressive torque and power values: 345 HP at 5,000 rpm and, when the Sport button is pressed, a maximum of 369 ft-lb of torque is available at engine speeds from 1,750 to 4,500 rpm.

Low consumption, sporty verve

Compared to the more powerful unit installed on the Ghibli S Q4, this six-cylinder engine has specifically designed camshafts and injectors, combined with a different turbine mapping and a customized electronic control system. These modifications have cut consumption even further, without significantly affecting throttle response. From a standstill, the Maserati Ghibli springs from zero-to-60 mph in just 5.5 seconds (zero-to100 km/h in 5.6 seconds), with a top speed of 163 mph (263 km/h).

Auto-adaptive transmission

The Maserati Ghibli benefits from the 8-speed ZF automatic transmission. Lightweight, this high-performance automatic executes precision gear shifts, and is controlled by auto-adaptive software that is able to recognize driving style and road conditions and adapt to the gear-changing mode accordingly. There are five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E. (Increased Control & Efficiency).

GranTurismo handling

The key task of managing the Maserati Ghibli’s handling is entrusted to the extremely sophisticated suspension system. The aluminium arms of the double-wishbone front suspensions are higher up for precise handling, while the five-arm multilink system used at the rear is ideal for combining ride comfort with sporty performance.

Next-generation steering

The servo assisted hydraulic steering system of the Maserati Ghibli helps ensure optimum “feel” at the wheel, with no annoying impression of artificial assistance when cornering at high speed. Specifically designed to make driving as much fun as possible, the Ghibli’s steering system is light and smooth at all times, even when parking. The superb steering feel in all situations is further enhanced by a new aluminium steering box.

A new concept in personalization for the sports sedan segment

The Maserati Ghibli is a car that places no limits on its driver’s desires and preferences, revolutionizing the concept of customization in the sports sedan segment.

Luxury Leather

For those seeking even greater luxury, the entire interior—seats, dashboard, doors and center console—can be upholstered in even higher premium quality.

There are six leather seat selections: Nero*, Cuoio*, Sabbia*, Marrone, Rosso and Blu. In addition, there are three contrast stitching options: Nero with Rosso, Grigio or Cuoio stitching.

A new customizable option includes Trident stitched headrest with four combinations: Nero with Rosso, Grigio or Cuoio stitching and Rosso with Nero stitching

*Standard equipment

Elegant or sporty soul

Maserati Ghibli is standard equipped with a dark mirror (high-gloss) trim. Five available optional trims include: Ebano (high-gloss wood), Radica and Rovere Chiaro (open-pore woods), Carbon Fiber (high-gloss) and Black Piano (high-gloss). The sporty feel of the carbon fiber finish can be combined with the Active Shift gearshift paddles, mounted behind the steering wheel and integrated into the steering column, and the sporty brushed steel pedals.

Ermenegildo Zegna dressed Maserati

Dedicated craftspeople choose to work with only the finest materials available; how fitting that Maserati has commissioned Ermenegildo Zegna, one of the world’s foremost fashion houses and producer of fine fabrics. The company, still in family ownership after over 100 years, has much in common with Maserati, with its Italian tradition of excellence and innovation.

The partnership will produce new, exclusive Zegna Edition interiors, creating a dynamic contemporary look for the Ghibli. The models stand out from the current Ghibli range thanks to its special colour finishes, materials and trims. They are a tribute to the harmony of opposites, a stylistic synthesis between sophisticated design and technological dynamism.

This exclusive new product style interpretation targets the most discerning drivers and passengers, a luxury bracket of precious detail lovers. They know luxury by feel, and will no doubt feel fully indulged surrounded by the truly exquisite materials chosen for the Zegna interiors. The finest leather is combined with natural fibre Zegna Mulberry Silk inserts on the seats, door panels, roof lining, sunshades and ceiling light fixture. The Silk is embellished with a hand-stitched micro-chevron. Seating features a central silk insert with a macro-chevron weave. Door panels, roof lining and sunshades are covered with Zegna silk jersey. Three different colour combinations of leather/silk and contrasting stitching will be offered. In all, the Zegna Edition Ghibli marks the first milestone toward the renewed, future product line-up for Maserati, further enhancing the character and aesthetic value of this iconic marque.

Maserati made passive safety a top priority when designing the Ghibli.

The Maserati Ghibli comes equipped with seven airbags. Two front airbags, both dual-stage to shield the driver and front passenger in the event of collision, whilst their torsos and hips are further protected by two side airbags located in the front seats. There are also two window airbags fitted in the roof next to the central pillar that cushions the heads of the front and rear passengers if the car is struck from the side. Finally, there’s a seventh airbag that protects the driver’s legs.

First class active & passive safety systems

The Ghibli's stunning design has been made possible thanks to a brand new frame that is constructed from alluminum alloy to achieve strict weight & strengthen targets. The Ghibli also features a range of active safety systems including the Maserati stability system which is an advanced electronic control system. A combination of aluminum and steel ensures that its weight distribution is ideally balanced, whilst special stiffening cross members deliver exceptional torsional rigidity.

These safety systems constantly monitor the space between the Ghibli and other nearby vehicles. When a side or rear blind spot is encroached upon, for instance by another driver changing lanes, illuminated icons appear in the door mirrors and an audible alert is sounded.

*Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles, can cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more likely to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road. Be careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped with low-profile tires.
