Sporting verve for all to see

The exterior of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 was envisioned to offer a unique marriage of elegance and sportscar verve, drawing on the best Maserati design tradition. The starting point for its sleek silhouette is the distinctive front end, defined by the prominent Maserati grille with concave vertical fillets. It pays clear homage to the GranTurismo and the historic A6 GCS Berlinetta, a famous Maserati icon from the past.

Timeless Maserati style reinterpreted with contemporary details

Flowing along the side, with the two stylish lines that converge before giving way to the sculpted forms of the rear fenders, it is easy to identify clear references to the Maserati tradition, including the three large air vents behind the front wheels—with their new, more modern look—and the iconic oval Maserati Saetta logo on the triangular C-pillar.

Distinctive, luminous surrounds define a dynamic front end

The aggressive front headlights of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 create luminous light, thanks to the LED Daytime Running Light function. Framing the large chrome Trident logo suspended in the center of the grille, they impart an even more dynamic look to the overall design. Incorporated in the headlight units, the LED indicator lights replicate the distinctive motif of Maserati’s three signature side air vents.

The tapered lines of the rear give the car a coupe-like look

To the rear, the tapered design of the trunk is a natural continuation of the cabin, while the two LED tail lights provide continuity with the shapely rear fenders. A look suggestive of speed and aggression is underscored by the twin exhaust tailpipes and the 19-inch Poseidone Elegance wheels (standard).

Wraparound racing-style seats in a carefully crafted, luxury interior

The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 accommodates its passengers in a luxurious, comfortable and spacious interior. Enhancing the car’s elegant profile, the long wheelbase provides occupants with one of the roomiest interiors in the sports sedan category. The seats, upholstered in soft leather, have wraparound forms and impart a sporty feel while always providing supreme comfort.

The Maserati Touch Control dominates the dashboard

The center of the dashboard is dominated by the traditional Maserati clock with blue face and aluminium details and the large 8.4-inch display of the Maserati Touch Control, the access portal for the entertainment technologies and control center for most of the onboard devices.

Adjustable pedals

The all-electric front seat adjustment system helps to achieve the optimal driving position in terms of height, depth and the angle of the back and seat, and also includes four different lumbar support settings. The optional pedal height adjustment system, operated by a control in the front of the driving seat, allows the precise positioning of the accelerator and brake pedals.

Ergonomic, intuitive controls

Sitting in the driver’s seat of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 imparts a sense of total control. The ergonomic three-spoke leather-clad steering wheel, with controls for interacting with the main multimedia functions, frames a simple but striking instrument panel. The large speedometer and tachometer have elegant white backlighting and are separated by a 7-inch TFT display that shows the car’s dynamic data.

Featured as an option for the Ghibli range, the new Harman Kardon Premium Sound System, utilizes the very latest in digital technology, a state-of-the-art 900 watt amplifier lies at the heart of this system, delivering stupendous sound quality, whatever the source: radio, CD, iPhone® or any other similar device. Twelve independent channels are employed, providing unparalleled levels of control within a car environment and guaranteeing a truly inspirational experience that releases all the subtle nuances of the original recording. With ten high-powered speakers carefully positioned throughout the cabin, the system produces 360 degrees of sublime sound reproduction despite the listeners´ seating position. A special high-performance subwoofer handles the low-end frequencies with ease, whilst the mid-range drivers and tweeters ensure that every instrument makes its presence felt on this virtual concert platform.

Concert-hall acoustics thanks to the Bowers & Wilkins High Premium sound system

The Maserati Ghibli can be equipped with the highest option offered with Premium Surround system, created in association with high-end sound specialists Bowers & Wilkins. The system, with a 16-channel 1,280-watt amplifier and 15 speakers, blends perfectly into the design of the interior and guarantees unparalleled sound with unbeatable dynamic purity.

When music is played on a digital device, it is digitally compressed, which inevitably removes many of the subtle audio details that were originally recorded. To rectify this, the Bowers & Wilkins System features a special music restoration process called Clari-Fi, which instantly scans all types of compressed audio files and intelligently corrects any deficiencies detected. As a result, the missing highs and lows are recaptured, vocals are restored to their natural tone, and distortions are removed.

A fuel-efficient, state-of-the-art engine for a powerful driving experience

The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is powered by an efficient 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 engine that delivers a peak of 404 HP at 5,000 rpm and is credited with a maximum torque, in Sport mode, of 406 lb-ft at just 1,750 rpm. The amazing specific torque value of 135 lb-ft per liter ensures an aggressive response that will deliver pure excitement with every movement of the right foot.

An extremely efficient engine, for daily driving pleasure

A wealth of innovative solutions makes the Maserati Ghibli S Q4’s V6 an extremely fuel-efficient engine. The use of two parallel-mounted, low-inertia turbines helps to prevent turbo lag, giving swifter response to every touch on the accelerator and flexibility in virtually all driving conditions.

The Q4 intelligent AWD combines safety with maximum driving pleasure

The Maserati Ghibli S Q4 is equipped with an innovative “on demand” all-wheel drive system capable of combining maximum driving pleasure with enhanced safety on all road surfaces. In normal conditions, the rear-wheel drive system transfers the power of the V6 to the road, but if the road surface turns slippery or the wheels lose grip, the system instantaneously (in just 150 milliseconds) transfers the necessary drive force to the front wheels.

A lightweight, quiet system

On the Maserati Ghibli S Q4, drive-torque distribution is electronically controlled by a special algorithm that processes a large number of the car’s dynamic parameters. In mechanical terms, the system transfers the drive torque to the front wheels by means of electronically controlled, wet multiple-plate clutches: a compact, lightweight and quiet solution.

GT handling thanks to sophisticated suspension and transmission

In terms of handling, the adoption of front double-wishbone and rear five-arm multilink suspension combines comfort with sporty handling. The new 8-speed ZF automatic transmission is controlled by auto-adaptive software, and is able to switch from the smooth gear shifts of Auto Normal mode to the Manual Sport mode, which gives the driver full control over fastest gear changes during spirited driving.

The lightweight, powerful Brembo brakes have dual-cast discs

The powerful Brembo brakes of the Maserati S Q4 have dual-cast discs, which combine the properties of cast iron with the light weight of aluminium, helping to reduce the unsprung mass. Braking power is provided by efficient monobloc calipers, with six pistons at the front and four pistons at the rear, acting on ventilated, slotted discs of 360 mm x 32 mm and 350 mm x 28 mm respectively.

A new concept in personalization for the sports sedan segment

The Maserati Ghibli is a car that places no limits on its driver’s desires and preferences, revolutionizing the concept of customization in the sports sedan segment.

Luxury Leather

For those seeking even greater luxury, the entire interior—seats, dashboard, doors and center console—can be upholstered in even higher premium quality.

There are six leather seat selections: Nero*, Cuoio*, Sabbia*, Marrone, Rosso and Blu. In addition, there are three contrast stitching options: Nero with Rosso, Grigio or Cuoio stitching.

A new customizable option includes Trident stitched headrest with four combinations: Nero with Rosso, Grigio or Cuoio stitching and Rosso with Nero stitching

Ermenegildo Zegna dressed Maserati

Dedicated craftspeople choose to work with only the finest materials available; how fitting that Maserati has commissioned Ermenegildo Zegna, one of the world’s foremost fashion houses and producer of fine fabrics. The company, still in family ownership after over 100 years, has much in common with Maserati, with its Italian tradition of excellence and innovation.

The partnership will produce new, exclusive Zegna Edition interiors, creating a dynamic contemporary look for the Ghibli. The models stand out from the current Ghibli range thanks to its special colour finishes, materials and trims. They are a tribute to the harmony of opposites, a stylistic synthesis between sophisticated design and technological dynamism.

This exclusive new product style interpretation targets the most discerning drivers and passengers, a luxury bracket of precious detail lovers. They know luxury by feel, and will no doubt feel fully indulged surrounded by the truly exquisite materials chosen for the Zegna interiors. The finest leather is combined with natural fibre Zegna Mulberry Silk inserts on the seats, door panels, roof lining, sunshades and ceiling light fixture. The Silk is embellished with a hand-stitched micro-chevron. Seating features a central silk insert with a macro-chevron weave. Door panels, roof lining and sunshades are covered with Zegna silk jersey. Three different colour combinations of leather/silk and contrasting stitching will be offered. In all, the Zegna Edition Ghibli marks the first milestone toward the renewed, future product line-up for Maserati, further enhancing the character and aesthetic value of this iconic marque.

Maserati made passive safety a top priority when designing the Ghibli.

The Maserati Ghibli comes equipped with seven airbags. Two front airbags, both dual-stage to shield the driver and front passenger in the event of collision, whilst their torsos and hips are further protected by two side airbags located in the front seats. There are also two window airbags fitted in the roof next to the central pillar that cushion the heads of the front and rear passengers if the car is struck from the side. Finally, there’s a seventh airbag that protects the driver’s legs.

First class active & passive safety systems

The Ghibli's stunning design has been made possible thanks to a brand new frame that is constructed from alluminum alloy to achieve strict weight & strengthen targets. The Ghibli also features a range of active safety systems including the Maserati stability system which is an advanced electronic control system. A combination of aluminum and steel ensures that its weight distribution is ideally balanced, whilst special stiffening cross members deliver exceptional torsional rigidity.

These safety systems constantly monitor the space between the Ghibli and other nearby vehicles. When a side or rear blind spot is encroached upon, for instance by another driver changing lanes, illuminated icons appear in the door mirrors and an audible alert is sounded.
